Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do I make a booking with you?
You will probably be looking at a number of wedding photographers. I would suggest that you meet each of them and look through the type of work that they produce and have a good face-to-face chat to ensure that you can work with this person. When you want to make a firm booking you will need to complete as much detail as possible on the Wedding Information Sheet, sign it to accept the Terms & Conditions (this is a legally binding contract) and send it with a deposit of £350 (the deposit can alternatively be paid by debit / credit card, please call with card details)

2. What happens when we make a booking?
Upon receipt of your deposit, I will review the details and call you with any particular questions at that stage. I would also mark off that day on the calendar – I will only ever shoot one wedding per day irrespective of which package you book.

3. Will you meet us before the wedding day?
I always like to meet the couple well in advance to discuss your specific requirements, preferably at the wedding location. You can also book a pre-wedding photo shoot for the pair of you, this is included in the price for Queensberry package clients, please call to discuss.

4. When is the best time for the photographer to arrive?
Depending on the coverage within your chosen package, if bridal preparation is not covered I would normally arrive at the ceremony location about an hour prior to the ceremony start. If bridal preparation is included, arrival at the ceremony location will be later than this, which may curtail shooting the arrival of guests and the groom and best man.

5. What about group pictures and formal shots?
I will shoot whatever groups you would like. The contemporary style is more focussed on reportage and photojournalistic coverage – capturing spontaneous & natural images of your interaction with your guests. Thus large numbers of group shots will erode the time available to capture the true nature of the day.

6. What format of camera do you use?
I only use high specification Nikon professional digital cameras. This means we can offer you a choice of colour, black & white or toned images.

7. How many pictures do you take?
We will take far in excess of the number of pictures quoted in the prices section, typically in excess of 700 during the course a whole day. I will then select the very best for your preview and in turn you will need to make your selection to get to the number of images for the album.

8. What time will you leave?
This is determined by the specific package that you are considering, although this can be extended as a premium service.

9. Will the photographer require refreshments?
Yes please; arrangements should be made for the photographer to have a meal and refreshments.

10. Do you work nationwide?
Whilst I am happy to work anywhere in the UK, additional costs will be incurred for mileage and potentially accommodation should the wedding be over 50 miles from my base (please call for details) I will also accept commissions for overseas weddings.

11. How do we get to see the photographs?
You will be sent a proof album, bringing together all the shots from the day for you to keep. Your wedding pictures will also be hosted on our web site, which is the quickest and easiest way of showing them to your family and friends.

12. How do we get to design our album?
You will be invited to our studio for a design consultation - we can spend a morning or afternoon with you. We will go through your photos and help you select an album before planning how it will be laid out with our virtual album software.

13. How long will it take to receive our album?
Usually eight weeks after we have designed it with you.

14. How will we receive our album?
I will either hand-deliver it if local or courier it to you for no extra charge within the mainland U.K.

15. How will friends and family be able to view and order reprints?
Prints will be available for your guests to purchase via my website circa 21 days after the wedding i.e. 7 days after your preview.

16. Do you keep a record of each wedding?
Yes, we make two copies which are stored at separate locations. Reprints can then be ordered for years to come.
